Comprehensive social welfare programs designed to uplift communities
AICS Provision of timely and appropriate aid to those in distress brought about by critical incidents/ events or series of situations that impairs psychosocial functioning, whether from local fund or from other social welfare agencies.
Self-Employment Assistance (SEA) is a self-help livelihood mechanism wherein the beneficiary is given an opportunity to establish or develop his/her chosen project as source of income by providing him/her with seed capital. The agreement is et between the Local Government of Socorro and the beneficiary to ensure that repayment must be given monthly for 1 year.
A quick-access assistance card issued to qualified beneficiaries, enabling expedited support for urgent needs without repeating the full application process each time.
Education is an essential human need. It is one of the basic means to alleviate poverty and engineers social change. It likewise reduces social and economic disparity, allowing progress to be shared equally by the people. However, obtaining an education is not an easy endeavor for those who are financially constrained to pay matriculation and other school fees. For poor and disadvantaged families, other expense that comes with schooling is a burden such as books, school supplies, uniforms, food and the like.

Distribution of relief goods to families affected by calamities and emergencies across the municipality.
Relief packs — rice, canned goods, hygiene kits, and drinking water — are pre-positioned in every barangay ahead of typhoon season and released within 24 hours of a disaster declaration. MSWDO coordinates with the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office to identify affected households, prioritize senior citizens, persons with disabilities, and families with infants, and set up temporary evacuation support. Residents can report unreached areas through the barangay social welfare desk or the office hotline.
Improving child nutrition through community-based feeding activities and health monitoring.
Daycare centers across the municipality run a 120-day feeding cycle for undernourished children ages 2 to 5, with meals planned by a nutritionist and served alongside regular weighing and height monitoring. Parents receive basic nutrition education, and children who stay underweight after the cycle are referred to the Rural Health Unit for further assessment. Barangay nutrition scholars help track attendance and progress at each site.
Capacity-building and empowerment activities for barangays and various community sectors.
Ongoing initiatives include leadership training for barangay council members, livelihood seminars for women's and senior citizens' associations, and organizing support for people's organizations seeking accreditation. MSWDO also facilitates values-formation sessions for out-of-school youth and coordinates with barangay officials to identify sectors most in need of program support each quarter.
